Autocad is one of the most used computer program designed to draw your architectural or ingeneering projects. Utilities are also able to develop 3d models. I made a list of questions that are often conducted in many forums and often cause problems for users of autocad (FAQ):

    1. HATCHes

The extension of the files is .pat depending on the type of autocad you use, the files will be in a folder or another. Search Herr. --> Options... in the top tab Files click on where you first cross indicates the position of support files. Here are all the files related to shady, the file .pgp to redefine the keys ... the configuration files of your Autocad.

On Herr.-> Options configure your first cross like this name. Click above it and it will appear paths looking where are those files.     2. FILES couldn't PASTE into it

There are files that come from Autocad's external programs that the program interprets in an erroneous way. The command PASTE is one of them. The best thing for these cases is to copy the information of this file and paste it in a new one.

    3. Questions about SOLIDS

I am starting working with solid, for example I want to create an Intersection of two perpendicular cylinders in cross, the problem that I have is that I don't know where to place the cross exactly, in the middle or with any point of objects' reference. Some trick?

You can place the cross exactly in the center with the reference to Autocad's objects. My advice is that first you make the cross (with two lstraight ines) and then you generate the solid ones with center in the final points of the straight lines and the radius in that you are interested.

In another way, when you are working with Solid at Autocad bear in mind that when you do an union between several bodies, these cannot separate later (except that you undo the action). I use the solid ones to never do the buildings (columns, windows, doors, etc etc) but one solid until the end, because except that you have very clear that these solid ones are united (as if they were a block in 2D) it does not suit to join them. Hereby, you can correct always any mistake that you commit on having drawn it or to move it if you want to do later some change.

    4. LAY OUT windows

In Autocad's lay outs you can generate some windows from zones of the same drawing. The scale of each one from the windows can be different, only you have to select the window that you want and click on properties. Inside the properties of the window you have a paragraph that puts scale of the window (the zoom on the drawing, called standard scale). There you put the scale to which you want to see the drawing.

    5. OLE Texts

When I insert an OLE object of text with the manager of images orientated correctly, on having printed the document, the text goes out of the reverse.

NEVER, and I say NEVER work with objects OLE EVER, there is a tool in autocad 2006 that allows you to do tables (that it is for what I was using these objects) and if you want to put text, also has a tool. Whatever it may be what this OLE has, you it copy to Autocad otherwise because it does strange things.

    6. Problems with Hatches scale

On having worked with hatches I have a problem with the scales, since some drawings forces me to work with very small scales and they load the drawing quantity and in other cases on having treated other existing shadings already in the drawing realized in another computer, change the scale different from the original size.

Scales depends on the units of the insoles of drawing that you use, namely, units on having begun to work and with which there is formed an Autocad (it is possible to change this into the options, inside Herr's bar.). It works with the size that you want, but it adapts the shadings to every scale of drawing, is what I have to do on my when I want to stamp something, the tests to know that type of shading and the density of the same one ... faults of the program.

    7. Autocad with Office

When I try to copy a detail done in autocad and to stick it in the word, How can I do in order to doesn't appear me the black bottom of autocad???

When you do it, Word uses the file that you are handling like image, that is to say, that everything what you do in Autocad has witness in Word. In order that bottom works out white for you, simply it changes Autocad's bottom color and put it in white target, it will appear in Microsoft Word in the same color that you have here. It could change into Herr. -> Options ... -> Looking for the color of bottom in the eyelash of visually in the box "colors".

    8. Thinckness line in ploter

I want to print a few planes from several 3d pieces, already become to remove the secret lines, but something I couldn't remove are straight basic lines of curves. I am doing thin pipes, but what goes out for me ultimately, instead of a thin pipe, is a black long spot, jeje. Could yoy answer me, as being able to remove these lines in order that the drawing stays clean and presentable possible mas? I am printing to see it in wireless sight.

If you have the piece in 3d just in spite of printing it with secret lines you will see the object with the lines of edge, concealing the lines that would not be seen if the object was opaque, i'm not sure if I explain it well.

As soon as you are going to print it, in the menu of printing you must indicate the thickness of the lines (be aware that it was hard to find it to me at the first time) using the black color 7 thickness and the type of line that you want that it is the one that you see. In this menu of printing you have also the option to see in secret lines (a cabin down to the right).

To do secret lines in a drawing, my advice is to generate a presentation in which a window is the object that you want to see I conceal, whereas the rest they are the lines that you need for the plane. It handles the presentation with the windows and you will obtain very good results, rapidity, files of minor size and comfort on having drawn in the model (superposing layers).

    9. Starting pop-up window

I cannot open or guard a file from the menu - File-Open or to save (before if it towards) now it(he,she) sends me to the lower command case, where I have to give it the command and the route of the file; in addition I cannot rename files.

To solve this, you have to write on the screen of commands FILEDIA and it's going to ask you a value (0), change it to 1 and now your starting pop-up window will appear.

    10. Printings smaller than A3

The printings always work out smaller than the format you indicate, for a simple topic of margins that has the printer. If what you want is to extract the maximum of the DINA3 (or the format you want) you can do: 1.- Print the presentation giving format DINA3 extended (if your printer admits it), cliking in the printer's properties and fitting the margins just size of DINA3. Put the paper centred on the printer and the printing works out just for you. 2.- Print the File with a personalized format, creating it with the margins you are interested (0 if it is what you wish), but bear in mind that if the default configuration printer does not allow it to you, you will not be able to do.

If you don't want to lose the scale of the document, my advice is that you use always the presentation (presentation mark). Here, presentation indicates you the margins printer has and the paper on which you print it. You can scale the windows in its properties, it fitting always to the same size (your scale) and giving him to immobilize window. This way your window does not change on a large scale and you can move her for the DINA3 or the paper that is with all comfort.

    11. Impression Scale

I have realized a few planes in autocad 2000 to scale 1:1000 (model mark) and me gustaria to know since(as,like) I have to do paper to prepare it in space in order that the printing process still has it to scale 1:50.

There is a very simple rule for it: the scale that you want is divided by 1000 and it is the number that you have to put to the window in the cabin on a large scale (selecting and touching the right button on it, goes out for you a menu, clicking in properties and you look for this cabin).

My advice is that you draw always to scale 1:1, this way this rule works to the perfection (1 meter = 1 unit of autocad). If you change it on a large scale it multiplies or divides in order that you still have it in meters of a definitive way... much more difficult, and if you get used you will remember always and it will be very easy to remember.
